A New Name on the Hudson: Gochman Collection Opens Branchline This November
The Gochman Family Collection has settled on what to call its Hudson Valley home. The space will go by Branchline, and it opens to visitors in November. A first show, titled "Line Break," will set the tone for what the building is for. Among the artists on its walls will be Teresa Baker, Raven Chacon and Emmi Whitehorse, with others joining them in the hang. For a New York reader, that is a short drive north to see a private collection choose its first public word. The title of the show and the name of the place share a thread, and that is the kind of deliberate choice a new institution makes when it wants to be read closely from day one. The rest of the roster, and the hours, will follow as the opening nears.
