The Bourbon on Your Back Bar Now Says How Old It Is
Jefferson's Reserve, the bottle most American bartenders reach for when a guest asks for the house pour of that name, has been reworked. It is bottled at a stronger strength than before, and its label now states how many years the whiskey spent in wood, a detail the brand had previously kept to itself. For a bar director building a list, or a diner reading one, that is the difference between taking a brand's word for it and knowing exactly what is in the glass. The change reaches the heart of the lineup rather than a limited release, which means it will show up on ordinary nights in ordinary rooms.
