Rivian's Electric R1S Suits Up as the Ecto-1, Down to a Secret Compass on the Roof
Rivian has built a Ghostbusters tribute out of one of its own R1S sport utilities, and the detail work is what sets it apart. Period emergency lamps were brought back to working order rather than replaced with modern lookalikes, and they ride on the roof alongside a rotating dish and a full siren setup. The familiar crossed-out ghost emblem marks the flanks. The best touch is one most people will never see from the curb: a compass worked into the top of the truck, legible only from directly overhead. It is the sort of easter egg that rewards the owner who knows where to look, which is exactly how the best tribute builds have always been done. For a company that has spent its short life making quiet electric trucks, a wailing, flashing, ghost-hunting wagon is a cheerful change of pace.
