Honda Puts a Number on Its Hybrid Future: Fifteen Models Before 2030
Honda has given its coming hybrid system a name and, more usefully for the owner planning a purchase, a schedule. The marque intends to have fifteen hybrid models on sale before the decade is out. Each will ride on a fresh architecture drawn up specifically around the hybrid drivetrain, and Honda says the payoff is a car that carries less mass and makes better use of every gallon than what came before it. Which nameplates, and in which model years, the company has not yet laid out. What it has committed to is the count, the deadline and the engineering beneath them. We will report the first production car on this architecture when it has a badge and a window sticker.
