The Chef Who Tells Time Three Ways

Eric Ripert has opened the watch box, and Robb Report brought a camera along. In an installment of its newly launched on-camera series, the chef walks through what he wears: a piece dating to 1984, a Rolex with a blue dial, and more than one Vacheron Constantin. That is a range rather than a pile, and the range is the point. One watch is old enough to have outlasted a few kitchens. One is in the shade of blue that every wrist between Jupiter and Marco Island eventually gives in to. And the Vacherons are the quiet kind, the sort a table in Naples clocks from across the room and a table in Miami never notices at all. Palm Beach will admire the restraint and say nothing, which is how Palm Beach admires anything.
