Javier Bardem Discusses His Approach to Playing Raoul Silva in "Skyfall"
Javier Bardem has spoken with Variety about how he built Raoul Silva, the villain he played in the James Bond film "Skyfall." He said he brought a homoerotic element into the character's dealings with 007. He also described what he told director Sam Mendes about who Silva should be. Silva, a cyber-terrorist written as both cruel and flirtatious, is often ranked among the strongest antagonists in the Bond series.
