Genealogy Links Sydney Sweeney to Marilyn Monroe Through a 1600s Massachusetts Settler

Sydney Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe descend from the same man, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That ancestor is Ezra Perry, who was born around 1625 and died in 1689. Perry came from England and lived in Sandwich, Massachusetts, during the town's first decades. Counting down the generations from him, the two actresses are ninth cousins, with one generation separating them. Both women built their careers in Los Angeles, which is why the finding has drawn attention here. The Hollywood Reporter did not say who traced the family line or how.
